If Jason Statham is really a movie star then why does he keep making movies like Death Race? And how in the world did they convince a quality actress like Joan Allen to appear in a film like this?
And I don’t want to pick the plot to death, but these guys are given racing cars that are armored, 30mm machine guns, and napalm… Maybe instead of trying to kill each other they should just escape. They pretty much have everything they need.
This movie has me seriously confused.

Forced to don the mask of the mythical driver Frankenstein — a crowd favorite who seems impossible to kill — Ames is given an easy choice by Terminal Island’s warden (Joan Allen): suit up or rot away in a cell.
His face hidden by a metallic mask, one convict will be put through an insane three-day challenge. Ames must survive a gauntlet of the most vicious criminals in the country’s toughest prison to claim the prize of freedom. Driving a monster car outfitted with machine guns, flamethrowers and grenade launchers, one desperate man will destroy anything in his path to win the most twisted spectator sport on Earth.

If I was Jason Statham I would also take on the most of the movies he have. He probably does these movies because he thinks they are fun to work on and not only for the money. I love all the movies he is in and some of them only because he is in them.

for your information Jason Statham is the greatest action actor around now, he has played so many different roles brilliantly. I would like to see anyone who critices his work to do a better job than he has. The fight between him and Jet Li was epic. You critics are all the same you can’t see real talent when it’s in front of you!
