Here is the official music video for the new Coldplay song, Violet Hill, which is off their new album Viva La Vida. The album wont be released until June 17th, but so far we’ve gotten good looks at their title song and now this one.
So far I’m liking what I hear from the new album. This song has a different feel to it, very retro and I just can’t place my finger on who it sounds like. I can almost hear the song I’m thinking of, but no band name comes to mind.
Regardless, here it is, for your enjoyment.

it’s been getting pretty heavy rotation on mtv and vh1. that is when they actually show videos. doesn’t the magnifying glass on his teeth part freak you out? it looks like mad magazine to me!

Try comparing it to “Deliver Your Children” by Wings. I had the same unpleasant feeling of knowing I'd heard that tune before but not being able to remember where. I am not sure if “Deliver Your Children” is the match I was looking for, but it's a start. It has some similar elements.
