John Wells’ “ER” is set to end after its upcoming fifteenth season on NBC, but the network isn’t ready to get out of the John Wells business just yet. The peacock net has just picked up a cop-related show from the ER producer.
The new series is tentatively titled “LAPD.” The hourlong drama will center, as expected, on police in Los Angeles. Ann Biderman who worked on “NYPD Blue” is set to write the project while Chris Chulack (”ER”) will direct.
Wells, Biderman and Chulack are all set as exec producers on “LAPD,” which will come from Warner Bros. TV and John Wells Prods.

Police in LA… that IS a new idea. I don't think I've ever seen a show with that premise! (Sorry, Monday's make me sarcastic.)
Isn't John Wells tired of hour long dramas by now?
The question is, are we tired of one hour long dramas from John Wells yet?
I am. That's why I didn't watch ER this year. Plus, haven't we had enough
of police dramas?
