Another week of DVD releases, and sadly, one that couldn’t possibly live up to the numerous titles we had last Tuesday. There are some pretty cool Blu-Ray releases however, and also a TV series or two that may be of some interest.
If you are still looking for a good movie to rent, try In Bruges.
(Mike’s Recommendations)
Mad Men: Season 1
Sometimes I don’t like recommending DVDs that I’ve never seen, and this is one of them. However, the good things I’ve heard about Mad Men make me believe it HAS to be worthy of of checking out, and it’s already on my Blockbuster queue.(Amazon)
The Closer: Season 3
Egh, I’ve never seen the show…ever. But TNT plays the commercials about a bazillion times during the NBA playoffs and I have this strange desire to post about it.
People like the show, so who am I to judge. I’m sure you fans will be looking to watch season 3.
Blu-Ray Releases
Some cool Blu-Ray titles this week like Gangs of New York, Mad Men, In the Line of Fire, Point Break and the original Batman with Adam West.
(What you’ll probably rent)
Vantage Point
The Matthew Fox-plus-a-ton-of-other-actors action thriller which looked pretty cool, but had a pretty bad ending from what I hear. Still, if you are looking for a fun ride, this might be worth your while.
Drillbit Taylor
A comedy with Owen Wilson from the guys of Knocked Up, Superbad, etc. The word on this was that it just stunk up the place and wasn’t very funny, but that’s from the critics. You guys may like it, so check it out!
I actually gave Vantage Point a pretty good review if I recall.
Good, I don't want to see it
36% on Rotten, but I heard from a lot of people that the ending got so unbelievable and convoluted, that it just didn't make sense anymore.
Anyways, I haven't seen it, so I don't know of course…but it's just not on my list.
Thats with Dennis Quaid and others right? Someguy get assassinated and its witnessed form diffrent points of view? thats this one right?
Yeah.
Did I see this? I don't remember.
No, but I rented it for you and it's sitting on top of the TV waiting for you to watch it.
LOL!
I saw this, this last weekend, very good film actually, I thought it was well told and I liked how they worked backwards in segements to progress the story… some good twists as well!
So you agree with me? Just making sure.
Whoo hoo!!! I knew I married you for some reason.
Secretly we all know its for Jason's superb culinary skillz…he's mad with a non stick pan and some olive oil!!
very good review… some folks here at work thought it was really dumb… but remember these are people I work with, so ya know, nuff said… I really enjoyed the movie, you were spot on (its a curse, I have the same problem)…!!
Well, I don't want to say I'm ALWAYS right, but, well, you know…
More like cereal and milk… Just kidding!!! =D
