Back in April, Jason told us about the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still starring Keanu Reeves, and no one was really surprised at yet ANOTHER old movie being modernized.
The poster came a month later and it looked OKAY, but nothing spectacular.
We finally have the first trailer for the movie, which also features Jennifer Connelly, Kathy Bates, John Cleese, and Jaden Smith (Will Smith’s son).
I hate remakes, but this trailer actually seems kind of interesting. What do you guys think?
(btw, when was the last movie that Jennifer Connelly didn’t wear some scarf around her neck?)
I have to admit this looks MUCH better than I thought it would. I'm not ready to say it will be good, but it does look better than I thought.
Booo – YouTube has already removed the video…
Damn that was fast
Maybe the teaser took the Blue Pill and disappeared back into its abyss?
thats was faster than Neo dodging bulletts fast!
It must have dropped below 55 mph
Trailer Addict has a copy up now. Just watched it. Very cool looking. I'm surprised.
My problem is, whenever I think of this movie, I start singing.
Michael Rennie was ill
The day The Earth Stood Still
But he told us where we stand.
And Flash Gordon was there
In silver underwear
Claude Raines was the Invisible Man
Is that a Madonna song?
Ha! You can't pull that. You *just* said you graduated high school in '85 in another thread. I KNOW you've seen Rocky Horror at least once.
Porter all over the net,,, nice find bud… I just watched the trailer and um… I take back everything I said before, cause that trailer is well done (as are the humans!!)
As IMPRESSIVE as a movie list of movies I have seen, I have an EQUALLY impressive list of movies I've never seen. RHPS is one of those films I have never seen…but I managed to see The Wall, does that count?
The Wall is an excellent film, but I'm not sure it helps in this particular case. Though my hands *are* swelled just like two balloons.
Never seen it either.
Make sure you have a bottle of Pepto near by if you do watch it… =) not cause its a bad film, but more for the motion sickness…
K, the trailer was so good I watched it agian and showed it to the Capn's daughter , she made a pun with out knowing it exclaiming “Whoa..” and she threw in a Hi Mike, as she walked out….
Thanks Richard, I just updated the blog with the trailer addict one.
Awww, I miss you guys
Hi Rene!
By the way, Point to her for the Whoa! line
Trailer addict is a cool site, I just ran across Transporter 3 (I luv dem B class action movies)… thansk RA for the reminder…. I know Mike and Jason point to it but I never remember to check it…
YEah, we get most of our trailers from there. They usually have the best quality stuff out there.
uh you didn't mention the 2nd trailer for Beverly Hills Chichuahua…
Btw don't see RHPS unless u see it in a theater with all the people doing dumb things, throwing toast, dancing, dressing up etc. Although it has a young Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon (misspell).
Uh this role is perfect for Keanu one plus, the annoying Micah from Heroes one minus. I'm torn.
They need to get Bill Pullman and the Smith family far, far apart. That would protect the Earth better than any other plan.
Does Jeff Goldblum at least get a cameo?
It would protect the early, but make it ohh, so less fun
It looks pretty good. As for your scarf question Mike: Labyrinth.

Keanu's back. And I'm lovin' it.
