I'm actually down in Phoenix tonight, the storm just didn't hit the south Valley until around 10pm tonight. So we got it uninterrupted.

I loved it…really loved it. About 30 minutes before it aired, we finished up with season 1 and I liked it more and more as the season went on.

This episode was great. I did however think The Client was going to double-cross Michael and turn out to be working FOR Carla, but I blew that one.

Tricia Helfer is going to be great on the show I think, she's going to be a superb bad “guy” that it maybe lacked last season.

Love the interactions between the characters, loved the moment you mentioned with Michael and his mothers.

I was bummed not to see Nate, because after the finale last year, I could honestly see him as a fourth member of the team…sometime.

I wouldn't feel bad about blowing it with Jimmy. I was sure he was a double as well. TheWife and I were really happy about a few small things they did tonight: they didn't radically redo the opening credits and they didn't jump forward several months. They let the fans of the show know the show was going to be different, but the same.

I think Helfer's going to be great. I'm also *really* looking forward to Michael Shanks. Huge fan of him.

I missed Nate too, oddly enough. Even though he bugs me almost as much as he bugs Michael, I think he needs that.

Yeah, something about Nate being round Michael is cool. I loved the admiration Michael had for him when he ditched the car to steal another one in the finale last year.

It was a great little moment.

Yikes! I'd better go lift some weights or look at a car magazine or something!!!

Fantastic write up Richard – bravo.

Last nights episode was spot-on. Brilliant all the way around and I love how both the humor and the drama are never over-done – just the right amount of each to keep the balance, and yet, keep you off balance at the same time.

If Bruce Campbell doesn't have the best lines in this show, then I don't know who does – those quotes you have from him were hysterical. “I got a lot of friends with ovaries…” – lol

I thought it would be cool if Nate made an appearance – but oh well, I'm suspecting he will show up later on in the season. Finally, I too was fooled. I totally thought Jimmy was going to be a plant for Carla – got that totally wrong. Oh well, still a great episode and a lot of fun.

That's three of us. I've gotta assume they meant for Jimmy to come across that way. Nice bit of subterfuge to make it even more tense.

I just love Michael's deadpan looks with that goofy grin. He just stares, smiles and says…”Yeaahhh…so, you got the car?” or some line like that.

BTW, I put this article on Digg, so have at it :)

When he brings Sam's caddy back and Sam gets all excited until he sees it – hilarious…Also, Fi taking a swing at Michael was pretty good too.

I think my favorite funny Michael line was when Fi chastised him for not calling his mom. Something like:
“I was going…to wait to call her.”

By the way, I loved that you took “beets” and turned it into Bears, Beets, Battlestar Galactica, but do you REALLY think that's what they meant?

    If so…damn clever.

  13. R.A. Porter

I really, really do. They're both NBC-Uni shows, as is The Office. They know good and well they've got a real live toaster on the show and are probably getting a few extra viewers giving them a shot just for her. And “beets”? Really?

Sure, it could just be a coincidence. And I had to stretch to get “bear” in there in a way they certainly didn't. But this *is* the network that airs Psych. A show that hides a pineapple reference into every episode, sometimes really obscurely. I think they did it on purpose.
