I think this way is better than following these kids to college and then after that. Of course, this is based on the thought that they will do as good of a job with casting and character development as they did with these two.

Another caveat, I think I will be sad when QB1 graduates.

Well, I think fans could see this coming. Street's character was never really utilized the way I think they originally envisioned and Smash pretty much reached his zenith at the end of last season. I think giving them a four episode arch to wrap up their stories is actually pretty generous of everyone involved.

If the show continues I think we'll have to get used to this sort of “goodbye” as more of the characters graduate and move on and others take their place. The show won't work any other way.
