According to EA Sports, the upcoming edition of the smash football computer game, Madden 2009, will mark the 20th anniversary of Madden Football. The game was first published in 1998 under the name, John Madden Football and only featured six players on each side due to the limitations of graphics and technology at the time.
That’s just insane. Twenty years? How old am I?
This new edition of the game should be pretty awesome. It features Brett Favre on the cover, the first time a retired (or so we think) players has appeared there. It will also be the first version to offer full online competition between 32 players in a complete NFL season.
That’s pretty sick. There will also be some feature called Madden IQ, which automatically adjusts to your skill level as it learns how you play.
I’d be very afraid to see how low mine would go.
Below is the trailer for the new game, due out on August 12th. You can see an HD version right over here.

Wow, that sounds freakin' awesome. Graphics look good as always. I would suck at it, but the 32 players thing sounds really cool and it blows my mind that they can do the IQ thing. Awesome.
Cool another video game article!!!! Yeah I saw this demoed on E3 all last week, looks awesome!
Well now that it is here, we can revel in the goodness of 20 years of Madden!! Opened it up nice and wide with a few cheats http://gamecheats.com/nintendo-ds/Madden-NFL-09
