Dexter rocks! Here’s a Comic-Con poster

All the hype I heard about Dexter was warranted. In fact, I might say it was underrated from what I’ve seen so far.

I’m eight episodes into season one and it just gets better and better. Rarely have I been creeped out or even frightened while watching a TV show other than the X-Files. It’s not exactly “scary” like a horror movie or anything, but it does have some awesomely tense moments that can influence nail-biting rituals.

The last few episodes in particular have been great, especially the one where Dexter kills a coyote human smuggler and his wife. Suddenly he’s THIS close to being discovered and the pacing of the action is brilliant.

My only disappointment so far (and it’s a tiny one) is the identity of the ice truck killer. I was not surprised at all by who it ended up being, and that bummed me out a bit.

Otherwise, it’s fantastic. I cannot wait to see the final four episodes of season one, and then start on the next season.

This post was just an excuse so I could talk about Dexter, but I DO have a cool poster to pass on that’s supposed to be at Comic-Con this week.

  1. If you like season 1 - then you are going to LOVE season 2.

  2. See, I heard from someone else that season 2 was just okay…

But I'll take your word for it :)

  3. I think season 2 is better - the tension is very high.

  4. Good to know.

Dexter is awesome…the character I mean. You'd have a hard time picking on whether to put him in a Hero role or a Villain role. Like for Ultimate Bad Ass or Bad Guy…he's awesome, but where does he fit?

  5. I decied to watch the pilot a few weeks ago. Didn't think it was going to be interesting but I love the show. Dexter is awesome. Even for a killer! I downloaded both seasons. Season 2 is just as good if not better than the first season but part of the finale felt too rushed. Other than that, it was great. Season 1 might have an up over season 2 just for the fact that they play a certain “card” with the storyline. I didn't think they would play that until season 2 or 3. Awesome show though.

  6. Wow, I'm curious what that “card” is…unless you mean him being almost caught?

Can you give me a clue without giving much away?

  7. No clues! :)

I think you're going to be pleasantly surprised over the next four episodes.

  8. DAMN YOU PORTER! :)

Good, keep the spoilers to a minimum.

This is really a unique show…nothing like it on TV.

  9. Sorry Mike ; ( lol.

  10. Actually that's not try…but I digress…

  11. Yeah, you are not going to want to be told the “card” that was played in season 1. Just keep watching, I actually only got it on Thursday and I finished it on Sunday!

GRRR at Season 2 not being out yet in Australia. Can't wait until August 22!

  12. Man, this “card” thing is bugging me, but it's given me something to look forward to!

Hope I can get to the episodes soon, but this week is looking busy!

  13. It's not?

  14. Well - if there is nothing like it on TV, and yet Dexter is actually on TV, then no, it's not true… :)

  15. You are a nerd

  16. You are imprecise. :) lol

  17. I think I will watch season one on Netflix, it didn't appeal to me as I thought he was just a serial killer, but knowing he is a killer of serial killers makes it more palpable to my sensitivities.

  18. Well, he's more of a killer of BAD GUYS, not just serial killers…

  19. Spolier spoiler!!!!

  20. I love it every time comic con comes to san diego. And that dexter show is really, really interesting.
