I’m not sure I can do the math, but when a movie makes $18.4 million SOLELY on their opening midnight screenings…something amazing is about to happen.
That figure also includes a record-breaking $640,000 in ticket sales for IMAX showings across the country.
And let’s be clear on this: According to Media By Numbers, the $18.4 million doesn’t even include the 3 AM or 6 AM showings! Just the midnight ones!
That total breaks the previous record of $16.9 million held by the midnight showings of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. The Dark Knight was shown at 3,040 theaters at midnight, compared to 2,915 for Sith.
No doubt about it. This thing is headed into the stratosphere in terms of box office, and I cannot wait to see the totals for all of Friday.
We’ll keep you posted over the weekend.

Its like De ja vu….
What do you mean?
It is going to deserve every penny it makes. I'm still thinking about it and talking about it.
There is definitely to much talk about the money right now. This is Batman we are talking about don't mind the money.

Yeah - I was just getting ready to post this. Crazy man…just crazy. But I'm happy for all involved - it deserves whatever accolades it receives. Brilliantly done.

Next target is the weeknd total gross, then, the biggie… can it reach worldwide and beat Titanic… can it do it?
Not sure if it will reach “titanic” proportions, but it should break (maybe shatter) the weekend record.
