Okay so we just got the Max Payne international movie trailer up this morning and now we’re already coming at you with some promo photos for the movie. What gives? I’ll tell you what gives. These promo pics are absolutely awesome!
This batch of six promotional photos are supposedly set to appear on the website for the movie itself, but they first appeared (to me) at FirstShowing. They all feature Mark Wahlberg as Max Payne and they look like they could have been taken from the game itself. I’m not really sure if they’re doctored images or if that’s really what still images from the film look like. Either way, I wish they were bigger and in high-res.
Coming together to solve a series of murders in New York City are a DEA agent (Wahlberg) whose family was slain as part of a conspiracy and an assassin (Kunis) out to avenge her sister’s death. The duo will be hunted by the police, the mob, and a ruthless corporation.
Max Payne stars Mark Wahlberg, Chris O’Donnell, Beau Bridges, and Mila Kunis and hits theaters on October 17, 2008.

I don't get it… I think they look like ass. The side-jumping one with the fake fire coming out of the guns is just downright silly-looking. I understand they're trying to go for the comicbook look, but meh… It all just comes across as cheap, and is nowhere on the level of Sin City.
Hopes for Max Payne movie remain very low. Sounds like it's gonna be pretentious crap. (Huge fan of the games, by the way.)
They look silly because the 2nd and fifth picture are EXACT movements from out of the video game, those are poses Max is famous for when in acting bullet time slo-mo powers… so thats all they are representing
I know that very well… They still look very silly in the context of a movie photo. The fake fire coming out at weird angles from the guns doesn't help either.
Maybe being a fan of the game has you more biased? I don't know. I still think they look pretty cool.
Well; I completely understand it's a matter of taste, and ultimately, it's only my opinion… But the fact I'm a fan of the game is a reason I'm excited about these shots. Then I look at them objectively and I think they look like ass.
Seriously… The bad snow, the weird angles of the fake-looking fire coming out of the guns… It looks like a crap Photoshop job to me.
I love that someone else has a totally different opinion. They DO look a bit cheesy, but coming off the trailer we saw, I just think the entire movie looks pretty cool.
