Jay Leno’s last day on The Tonight Show set

The date has been set for late night musical chairs to begin.

May 29th, 2009 will be Jay Leno’s final episode on The Tonight Show. Conan O’Brien will then take his place the following Monday, June 1st. And taking Conan’s spot will be Jimmy Fallon, as it was announced back in April.

June 1st should be great fun for those that love late night entertainment. Conan O’Brien will have all kinds of stuff planned I’m sure, and Fallon’s first episode should be very interesting.

The announcement was made at the NBC executive press conference during the Television Critics Association press tour over the weekend. Leno actually disguised himself as a reporter and started asking questions about himself to NBC co-chairman, Mark Graboff.

So what about Jay Leno? Will he be missed by you?

I’ve stated many times that I really don’t like his show much. His humor and interview skills are lacking in my opinion, especially when he relies on dirty jokes for about 65% of his laughs. I think it’s time to see a fresh face up there.

But I know he has fans out there. Are you dreading this date, or looking forward to Conan taking over the spotlight?

  1. Bring on Conan!

  2. Maybe the Conan Movie poster is really for Conan O'Brien. Jay never did anything for me I guess I am still bitter about the snubbing of Letterman.

  3. Na na na na, na na na na.. hey hey hey gooooooooooood byeeeeeeee

  4. I've always like Lettermen better than Leno. I don't think he's all that funny. So we'll see how O'Brien does.

  5. I've never liked Leno, either. Can't wait for that date.
