Mike, Thank you so much for your kind words. After all the troops do for us, how could we not provide them with a little entertainment? We have to do this; it's just that simple.

Thank you for spreading the word.

Thanks so much Mike for the coverage and for the confirmation that Jericho Fans not only have a huge sense of loyalty to Jericho, but huge hearts as well.

For this community of fans to join together along with children and giving people associated with Jericho, and be able to help those in need via Greensburg relief efforts, The Kansas Food Bank and so many other areas is such a heartwarming feeling.

It is also so wonderful that we have an opportunity like this to remind our men and women serving how truly grateful we are to them for their service and sacrifices. Providing them with a little entertainment to take their minds away from where they are, if even for a litttle while, is the least we can do for them.

Very proud to be a Jericho Fan when I read things like this.

It's a good thing you guys do. Most would naturally just focus on the show and not think about what kind of GOOD they could at the same time.

Thank you so much mike for writing this article!!! i feel as though all my shoutouts for the dvds for the troops campaign finally fell on the right set of ears!!! lol… now if only we can get more great writers like yourself to give these outstanding efforts more publicity!… thank you again and hoping your next jericho article will be the one proclaiming jericho as twice RENEWED instead of twice cancelled!

As the former Chairperson for the Guardians of Jericho (the not-for-profit organization) who sponsored Jerichon 2008, I want to add my thanks for such an uplifting, positive article about the Jericho Rangers. I've been a part of many fandoms over the past 40+ years (including STAR TREK, STAR WARS, FIRFLY, etc.), and I must say all of these groups tend to raise money for charitable endeavors. Many Science Fiction conventions (large and small) hold charity auctions to raise money for such worthy causes. There have quite literally been thousands of dollars raised for such organizations as the United Way, American Cancer Society, literacy, blood banks, the Red Cross, and such. Science Fiction fans are very aware that we need to give back to this world and its very diverse people.
JERICHO's fans are no different. Though the Rangers are a relatively small fan group, and most are very new to the concept and traditions of “fandom,” they are dedicated, loyal and knowledgeable about current events. They know we need to give back a little tot he world and its people, need to support one another, need to help one another. DvDs to the troops, the VFW efforts, the need of places like Greensburg, KS, are well-deserving of these fan efforts.
Thank you for writing a very positive article, and thank all the Jericho Rangers for supporting not only these worthy causes, but for supporting Jerichon, the Guardians of Jericho.and each other. Together Jericho fans stand strong, and their dedication speaks for itself.

    Sincerely,
    Morgan

Are any of you guys planning on being at Comic-Con this month to help promote this more?

I'd love to meet some of you if you do happen to be there.

Go Jericho! We love our show, and we love helping other people. I am amazed by the big hearts of fans, cast, crew, and everyone associated with this incredible show. I've found that, with this group, all you need to do is give them a task, and they'll find a way to get it done. And thank you to you, Mike — you 'da man!

I'll post that on Jnet and see if anyone is headed to Comic Con. I'd love to go but I can't afford the per bag charge the airlines are charging LOL. If you saw what I brought to Jerichon last month you'd understand…

Thank-you Mike for the great article, I`m very glad you focused in on the charitable aspects of what we do as Rangers. We spend a lot of time helping the community wherever needed whenever we can. We do this in the name of Jericho because of our love for the show and the cast and crew. Jericho has been incredibly imprinted in our hearts and the need to help others has brought us together as a community such as Jericho did after the bombs hit.

I'm there for Fri+Sat, so I am bringing my laptop bag, with a small change of clothes…so I should be okay :)

Thank you Mike for a wonderful article on Jericho and for your ongoing coverage of the Save Jericho Campaign. You have bee a wonderful supporter of all of our efforts and we greatly appreciate it.

As far as Comic Con goes I would love to go but with the economy being the way it is that would be a definite no on my part.

I agree with Armywife that I hope your next article will be to announce that Jericho is back. Thanks again Mike and Go Rangers!!!

When people refer to us as “nuts” remember the nuts do more than just promote a TV show. Thanks for pointing that out!

  15. Jason A Clark

A change of clothes? You won't have time for that.

  16. Mike Olbinski

I'll have to sleep sometime :)

Also to Note that in various Nuts to Nielsen shellings of Nielsen headquarters, Variety, Nielsen in Oldsmar Florida and this week at Hollywood reporter in excess of 5,000 pounds of nuts were ultimately donated to local foodbanks and shelters.

Absolutely brilliant! How good to know that the Jericho Rangers are embracing community while trying to get adoption for their series. Jericho speaks of community, family, and committment/unity. How fitting that the fans adopted these areas to commit to as a group. I don't know of any fan base in history that not only brought their program back on the air, but took out ad's, put up a billboard advertising for their series adoption, made a commercial, wrote letters tirelessly to “the powers that be”, has a close relationship with cast, crew, and producers, and also made a positive difference in communities. That says a lot about the people involved in this campaign! There's more than to the Jericho Rangers than meets the eye.

Thanks Mike, for the article. You have been a good friend to Jericho and the Rangers !

Thanks for the great article, Mike! I have never seen a fan base come up with so many different and unique ideas to help others and/or fight for their show. I can't wait to see what they come up with next! How does it feel to make history, Rangers?

  21. Mike Olbinski

    No problem guys :)

We just keep hoping your hard work pays off!
