We’re in the hot days now, when thoughts turn to beaches and Batman, suntans and stoner comedies. But I’m guessing after we hit the highpoint of summer - July 18, and you know why it’s the summer’s highpoint - and start that sticky and sweaty slide down to Labor Day, we’ll start thinking more about autumn’s darker fare.
Fare like Max Payne. The adaptation of the hit video game - one of the most innovative games on the market when it arrived, thanks to its incorporation of bullet time into game play - is due in theaters on October 17. Right when the days start getting short and death’s grip on the land grows stronger, we’ll get a dark, kinetic actioner about a man who’s lost everything in the world but thoughts of revenge.
Have a look at the trailer below.
Max Payne stars Mark Wahlberg as the tormented cop and Mila Kunis, trying on a new persona as an assassin out for her own revenge.

I thought it was interesting I didn't really see any bullet time in the trailer. They might just not use it, which would be weird.

Yeah that was the big draw of the game (aside form the supernatural aspect), I didnt see bullet time either but did see him flying through the hall slowly….

Holy crap that looks awesome.
Mark Walberg rocks, and Mila Kunis is…well…amazing looking.
Loved that final scene in the trailer with that winged creature (whatever it is).
I never played this game at all, so I'm not even sure what it's all about, but I like how it looks so far.

It looks pretty cool. Never really was a fan of Mila Kunis. She was alright on That 70s show. I always love when comedic actors take on serious roles. It's one of the reasons I started to like Ashton Kutcher (Butterfly Effect). I think she looks incredibly awesome in this. She alone is worth the watch for me. She looks pretty bad ass.

Sean, did you see Forgetting Sarah Marshall yet?
She's pretty good in that, you might like her better afterwards.

I should have added that I'm becoming a fan of hers. I've seen her in Boot Camp which I thought was a pretty good movie. I don't know why but I've been holding off on seeing it. I suppose I should?

This looks stupid, it's hard to adapt a game into a movie. Personally I think they picked the wrong actor to play Payne. Mark Wahlberg can't pull it off, honestly he's not a good actor and also the guy's a big time racist. I honestly refuse to watch any movie with him in it once I found out he violently attacked a Vietnamese man and yelled out all sorts of racial slurs.

I don't know about all the racist stuff (first I've heard of it), but he IS
a good actor. Did you see The Departed? Come on…he's great.
