I don’t know how many of our readers watched the series October Road, but it was canceled after only two seasons and left some dedicated fans pretty heartbroken.
This story was something I found encouraging, especially during these days of shows being axed right and left, without networks seeming to care about the loyal viewers out there who fell in love with Journeyman, Jericho and The 4400.
The creators of October Road, Scott Rosenberg, Josh Applebaum and André Nemec have decided to give fans a conclusion to their series, despite the abrupt ending. October Road only had a six-episode first season and finished with 19 total.
A finale was written by these co-creators called Don’t Look Back: An Epilogue for an Epic Love. It’s going to be a 15-minute mini-episode, which will likely be on the second season DVD release and hopefully online.
This is what fans can expect:
The story will start at the wedding of Hannah (Laura Prepon) and Big Cat (Warren Christie), and then flash forward seven years, where fans will receive answers to most of their remaining questions.
I’ve never seen an episode of October Road, but I thought it was extremely cool of these guys to put this together on their own. I have no idea if the costs for this were paid for out of their own pockets or what, but no matter, this is an awesome way to thank the fans for their devotion.
How cool would it have been to at least have gotten something like this for Journeyman, or Daybreak?

I tried the first few episodes, and it was OK. I think the bigger problem was that the first season had only 6 episodes. How can you really care about characters or a show in 6 episodes. Then it was gone for quite a while and by the time it came back I didn't care anymore, seems many others didn't either.
All in all it should be a lesson in marketing for the networks, but they seem to do this to us all the time.
I thought the show was pretty great in the 1st season. Didn't care for the November premiere date for the 2nd season. I thought they were going to premiere it in September or October. I thought that was a little late of them. Then airing it in December… and early January.. eh. Despite the Strike, I was watching other shows at the time and the direction season 2 was going didn't give me any reason to really watch it. I thought it was a nice show. Too bad. I will tune in for this though. I'm interested in seeing where the characters go.
I loved the series. Was taken by it from the first episode to the last. Very disappointed to see it end. I think what is happening to good story lines on TV is horrible. Everything is reality TV. Very disheartening. I would love to see it return.
I understand your frustration, but there is a lot of good stuff out there that isn't reality. Gotta give them a chance though.
i fell in love with this show since the first episode…i have never seen a better storyline and i think its stupid for them to cancel it…the show had many devoted viewers like me…i cried in almost every episode and im not the kind of girl who cries easily…this sux!…but i really do appreciate that they are gonna give it an ending…i needed that closure…
