Calling it a party might be a stretch, but I suppose if someone brought a few beers and a deck of cards, at least it might constitute a fun gathering.
The Dark Knight IMAX Experience is playing at the Deer Valley 30 in North Phoenix, and a few of us from Pop Critics will be there for the 3:15 AM showing this Friday morning.
Myself, The Trousered Ape, Cap’n Schwartz and one of our other writers, Richard Porter, will all be in attendance and you are welcome to join us.
Yeah, it’s waaaay frakking early, but since the midnight showing is sold out, we wanted to be among the second people to see The Dark Knight this weekend.
It actually works out pretty well. Go to bed around 6-7 PM, get up around 1 AM and then hit the theater. When the movie ends, you can just go in to work and then crash Friday night.

I’ll be posting a review early that morning most likely, so watch for it. Although I doubt it will be anything but glowing from what Rotten Tomatoes has to say, and Richard Roeper (Best Picture!).

3:15…hmmmm…tempting, but i think we'll wait and be part of the 268th people to see it sometime next week. I'm sure it will be awesome, have fun. The good news is when you leave around 5:30 it won't be 110 outside.

If I get in to an earlier show I will go get a Tracfone, find an internet connection and email you with my new phone number so you'll know I'm calling you, then go see the movie, after which I will call you from my Tracfone and brag incessantly about having seen it first, maybe spoil a couple of scenes for you, then I will go to the aforementioned Red Light district where I will unload my newly acquired Tracfone to a hoodlum or lowlife for minimal loss thus continuing to live my life “off network” and showing others they too can stick it to the cellular man.
I'd love to be there and meet everyone, but 3:15 is a tough one. Plus I'm using my guys nite out pass on Friday.
