The ever expanding cast of Roland Emmerich’s end-of-the-world film, 2012, has grown by one Woody Harrelson according to MTV.
Harrelson confirmed to MTV News that he was asked to take a starring role in the film, an idea that he liked apparently. I’m guessing he likes the idea of being relevant again. Harrelson told MTV that he will be playing a sort of modern version of the Greek Cassandra, a prophet nobody believes.
“I play a guy who’s been talking for a long time, the whole world thinks he’s crazy,” Harrelson said of his character. “But he’s been talking that there’s gonna be hell to pay for what’s been going on ecologically and everything.”
2012 also stars John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Thandie Newton, Danny Glover and Oliver Platt. It’s set to hit theaters on July 10, 2009 - giving us plenty of time to plan for the “real” end.

Sounds like real life with his views on global warming etc. I really like Woody so thats cool. Although if its too star studded it scares me.
Woody is the perfect person to play a modern day mad prophet! I think this is a great casting. I wasn't so hot on some of the other castings, but this one may “make” the movie.
