There’s not really anything new about doing individual character posters for a movie. Films have been doing it for a while now and we saw a bunch of them this summer. What J.J. Abrams has done with Star Trek, however, is something new. The first set of four character posters for Star Trek was released during Comic Con. We now have a second set that was released at VegasCon ‘08.
What was cool about the first set of four posters was that you could combine them together to form the Star Trek delta emblem. This second set follows that lead and forms the same emblem when combined. What’s especially cool about this second set is that it features the “secondary” characters of Sulu (John Cho), Scotty (Simon Pegg), McCoy (Karl Urban), and Chekov (Anton Yelchin). I’m not sure anyone really expected these characters to get the same treatment as the first four although I absolutely thought they should.
We’re still a pretty long way from the release date so I expect to see a lot more really cool artwork before it’s all over. Until then, here are the second set of four character posters along with a combined image (all in Hi-Res - just click).
