Bolt and Twilight Move To Harry Potter’s Vacated Date

The other studios wasted little time in mulling over Warner Bros. decision to movie Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince from November 21 to July 17, 2009. Disney moved in quickly with it’s animated film, Bolt, while Summit Entertainment moved up the release of Twilight to go head to head with Disney on November 21. Now both films will be competing for the lucrative Thanksgiving Weekend.

While both films should do well, they are targeting similar audiences. In this case, we’ve got to give the edge to Twilight. Although, it seems like just another vampire movie to me, the books it is based on are runaway best sellers and the Twilight fans are loud and numerous. Disney may have their hands full with this one.

What do you think? Which film are you more anxious to see - Bolt or Twilight?

  1. Bolt. My 14 month old like puppies. :)

  2. I think you've been hanging around her too much. You're starting to sound a bit like her.

  3. No, no, Dada.

  4. can’t wait for the Twilight movie. Series are awesome, hopefully they won’t mess up the movie

  5. Well, I’m an animation fan, so I’m a bit bias. But I’m totally looking forward to Bolt. Disney proved putting John Lasseter on deck was a good idea with Meet the Robinsons, and this sounds like an interesting plot, so for the first time in a while I have some hope in Disney outside of the Pixar area.

I am, however, reading Twilight, and plan to look at that one on the DVD.

  6. I like animation and I will go see Bolt with my kids but Twilight is so much bigger than Bolt! The hype alone is truly incredible…

I know that Twilight will make way more money on the first weekend. Bolt simply doesn’t have millions of teenage girls waiting for the theater doors to open…
