According to Variety, George Clooney is in talks to star in Up in the Air, an adaptation of the Walter Kirn novel that Jason Reitman adapted and will direct for DreamWorks.
Reitman is, of course, the director behind Thank You For Smoking and last year’s Juno which everyone talked about incessantly. He’s currently producing the Diablo Cody (Juno) penned script Jennifer’s Body starring Megan Fox.
In Up in the Air, Clooney would play the lead character in the satirical story about a perpetually transitory businessman obsessed with collecting a million frequent flyer miles.
Reitman has been writing the screenplay for five years off and on. He put the film aside when he read the script for Juno and decided to make that film. However, the script to Up in the Air is now finished and he hopes to make it his next film.
