Crusoe is certainly a unique project for NBC and one that puzzles me a bit. I’m a huge fan of the classic book, Robinson Crusoe, but how does that translate to a television show?
Well, the preview below should give us some indication. Looks like there will be a lot of flashbacks to the times before he shipwrecks on a deserted island, although how they’ll connect to the “present” time on the island is a mystery.
We told you guys back in May about Sean Bean and Sam Neill being added to the cast, and at the time we had no clue if the character Friday would be a part of the series or not, but we can see now that he will be.
Friday will be played by Tongai Chirisa, a South African actor who has won countless awards in his country, but has limited credits listed IMDB.
As I said, being a fan of the book makes me interested enough to check this out, but I’m just very curious about where it’s going to go and what the stories will be like.
The two hour premiere of Crusoe is on October 17th.

This will be NBC's attempt for LOST….
No way they can equal Lost with this
I think this looks fantastic. After watching the trailer I see so many more possibilities for it now than I did before. I was afraid they were really going to limit the scope of it, but it looks like they opened it wide and are going to take the stories all over the place.
I'm definitely going to check this one out.
Tongai Chirisa is Zimbabwean not South African
