First trailer for New York, I Love You

Paris, je t’aime is more than likely a movie most of you haven’t seen yet. It was an indie and one of my favorites from 2006.

It was essentially a compilation of 20 short stories or chapters all set in the romantic city of Paris. They were directed by all kinds of well known names, such as Joel and E than Coen, Wes Craven and Gus Van Sant. It also starred many familiar faces, like Natalie Portman, Elijah Wood, Steve Buscemi, Miranda Richardson, William Dafoe, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Bob Hoskins.

I absolutely loved the movie, which is roughly translated “Paris, I Love You.” The film displayed some fascinating, beautiful storytelling. It was amazing how these writers, directors and actors could take only ten minutes at a time to suck the moviegoer into the lives of those in front of us.

Well, that movie is now getting a sequel of sorts, as the same people behind it are now in the United States with New York, I Love You.

But this time, the talent is staggering. The number of names of actors appearing in this thing is unheard of:

Shia LaBeouf, Christina Ricci, Natalie Portman, Hayden Christensen, Blake Lively, John Hurt, Kevin Bacon, Rachel Bilson, Ethan Hawke, Robin Wright Penn, Maggie Q, James Caan, Bradley Cooper, Chris Cooper, Cloris Leachman, Orlando Bloom, Eli Wallach and Olivia Thirlby just to name a few.

Heck, Scarlett Johansson and Portman was both directing their own little stories in this thing.

I love these types of films, this one looks great and you can judge for yourself with the attached trailer.

  1. Looks good. Can't wait.

  2. where are the minorities in this thing? no blacks, no hispanics, only two asians? hayden christensen, rachel bilson, orlando bloom, blake lively? it's an untalented quadfecta. the only short that looks worth watching is shia labeouf/julie christie. would've love to see more NYC based actors and NYC based directors.

  3. I don't know about that stuff, I think these projects were more of volunteer
thing, people didn't make a lot doing it, so you kind of had to seek it out,
and maybe not everyone did that?

Rachel Bilson, Lively and Bloom aren't horrible…Lively is a decent young
    actress I think…
