You know it’s a long ways until Lost starts when the production for season five doesn’t even begin for 12 more days.
Are you kidding me? I swear this wait for Lost and BSG is excruciatingly slow and I’m not sure I’m going to make it.
So as Lost is fond of doing, we’re getting some new characters this coming year and per usual, they are as mysterious as the ones we already know about.
EW has the news about two potentially deadly people who could become regulars for season six:
First up is Caesar, a dangerous, physical and extremely intelligent male between the ages of 35 and 45. Although his intentions are unclear, this much is certain: He’s as skillful at charming people as he is at killing them. He also has a dark past, but, c’mon, that much was a given.
The other newbie is Ilanna, a European female in her late 20s to early 30s who possesses great intelligence, but who’s also dangerous as all get out. She’s alluring and apparently used to getting her own way.
My guess is that these people will be located on the mainland of course, and Ilanna sounds like she could be related to the Sun story concerning Charles Widmore.
At this point, I know some people may be tired of new cast members, but just remember characters like Ben, Desmond, Eko and even the recent Dr. Faraday were all additions that turned out to be awesome.
Wow I can actually read this article… but im with the majority, and dont like or think we need any new cast members…
We just need to trust that the Lost people know what they are doing and adding new characters will only add to the show. … and if they don't, they will get rid of them like Nicky and Paolo or whatever their names were.
Yeah, they've always done a pretty good job of working characters in or getting rid of them so I'm cool with it.
Yeah, I trust them with these new characters. I think they learned their lesson from Nicky and Paulo.
I actually liked Paulo. Couldn't stand Nikki though. She was pretty but her acting wasn't that great. They always introduce new characters so it doesn't bother me. If they don't work, they will be written out.

As long we get a flashback or two that details the entire backstory of Danielle Rousseau, I'll be happy. Let them introduce a bus load of new characters… I just want to know more about the mysterious Danielle.
BTW – I just notice on IMDB that Vincent the dog has now officially appeared in more episodes than Shannon, Boone and Walt.
I'm really looking forward to what the writers have come up with for the new season.
I hope Danielle's story holds up to all the hype. After all this time, it better be good!
I was hoping they would add a perpetually upbeat character, like Kaylee on Firefly.
I agree Nikki and Poochy were awful new characters.
After they screwed up with Nikki and Paulo, they learned their lesson. Pretty much all the characters that were introduced from that point were good additions. Besides let's be serious guys, it's not like we know all off Widmore's bunch.
Who knows Matthew Abaddon's associates either? New characters will be introduced for the show to go on, it's just a question of how they will be introduced and how excellent they fit their roles.
