The publicity for Babylon A.D. starring Vin Diesel has been decidedly low key for some reason. There were a lot of rumors at one time that the film had issues, but the trailers that I’ve seen have looked really good. This is exactly the kind of role I’d expect Vin Diesel fans to want to see him in so I’m a little perplexed as to why they haven’t been advertising more.
Babylon A.D. is a sci-fi action film about a mercenary (Diesel) who is hired to deliver a package from post-apocalyptic Europe to a mega-New York City. The package, of course, turns out to be a mysterious young woman who holds a secret.

I think the poster is a little bland and not really very telling about the movie. Take away the title and it could pretty much stand in for any of a half dozen other movies. At least the trailers look good.
Babylon A.D. is directed by Mathieu Kassovitz (Gothika) and stars Vin Diesel, Charlotte Rampling, Gerard Depardieu, and Michelle Yeoh.
It’s set to hit theaters on August 29, 2008.

This is my xXx sequel until the real one comes out. lol. This movie looks awesome.
I think I've only seen one trailer on TV so far. Hopefully they promote it more.
Let's see now. A mercenary, mega-New York City, a package, a mysterious young woman who holds a secret. Where have I seen this plot before? Hmm… I know I've seen this somewhere before. I'd bet my mul-ti-pass on it.
I like the poster. Jason is just a poster snob.
I'm not a snob. I just know a good poster when I see one and like to tell other people what they should and shouldn't like.
Fifth Element?
Oh, my mistake…
Sigh…this is clearly going to be a rip-off of JCVD's Cyborg, not Fifth Element, dude. No mention of aliens, other planets, or why a real killer would have asked what the little red button was for.
I am really looking forward to seeing this flim, but I also am perplexed about the marketing. We should be seeing more previews for it so the word gets out to more then just sci fi geeks like me.
I agree completely. The marketing has been awful. I am finally starting to see a few previews, but they waited too long in my opinion.
