Answered in email, but it should go here too: the Charlie Jade recaps will be available at charliejade.net - the ones that are already complete and the handful of episodes left. In addition, I'm toying with some ideas for a new site where I would archive the recaps I've done and keep going on the shows I want to do.

If you're interested in that, keep watching my personal blog at http://coyotesqrl.blogspot.com/ for details.

It's been a real pleasure interacting with the few, the crazy, the CJ fans and I hope to be able to keep that conversation going.

PS – I took your advice and re-watched last week’s episode and focused more closely on the visuals. You were spot on regarding Erik Canuel’s superb direction. This show has not only found its groove via the writing, but also from the very talented directors.

Terrific episode and great recap as usual Richard!

Watching the last few eps, you can sense that the writers have really found their rhythm and possibly have an endgame clearly in sight. Everything is clicking and each character is doing their part.

Charlie finally figuring out how to travel between verses and how he’ll use that in conjunction with what he’s learned from his time spent in Beta; Karl coming to terms with the existence of multiple verses and how dangerous a company Vexcor really is; Essa being Essa and literally doing whatever it takes for the good of the company, including killing innocent Vexcor employees so it’s founder can live to see another day; Reena being a pawn since day one with various people exploiting her for their needs but in reality, all she wants to do is be left alone and go home to Gamma; 01 Boxer’s continuing efforts to stop Vexcor from re-establishing the link (in his own unique and twisted ways); and like Blues in Beta, Sew Sew’s investigative and curious nature wanting answers to questions they don’t fully understand. Wonderful stuff all around.

Observations:

Again, 01 Boxer had some of the best lines in the episode. Filipowich absolutely dominates every scene he’s in, no matter who he’s up against. His delivery of the line “If the link is re-opened, I will blow it up. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.” followed by his flip remark “Moe, Larry and Curly?” had me laughing like a psychopath and reaching for the rewind button. Hopefully we’ll continue to see 01’s character in Beta even though Charlie’s now in Alpha.

Between Charlie’s comments to Blues “I’m going home soon” last week and this week’s response by Karl to Blues “if Charlie comes back…” foreshadowed the fact that Charlie was leaving Beta in this episode. We’ve gotten so familiar and vested in certain characters in Beta that I hope the show doesn’t completely abandon that universe.

A little girl doing what Charlie himself and all the resources in Beta couldn’t do… teaching him how to travel between verses, was a perfect resolution to the main issue plaguing Charlie all this time. Priceless.

I wonder if Shikari will continue to pursue Charlie in Alpha. If so, that’ll add an additional element of tension for Charlie as he begins the next chapter of his journey.

Lastly, Richard… I read the very sad news regarding this site closing down. Will we still be able to find your recaps of Charlie Jade (and other shows) on your personal blog or somewhere else? Please tell us that we’ll be able to continue reading your work.
