After the humongous success of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise it’s really no surprise that Disney would start looking for other rides and attractions that they could mine for possible film productions. And now Variety is reporting that Disney is eying an entire segment of its theme park — Tomorrowland — as inspiration for a space movie that rumors say will star Dwayne Johnson.
Disney has already hired screenwriters Jon Lucas and Scott Moore to draft an “epic-sized action adventure” set in space. The word is that the whole film is being designed as a star vehicle for Johnson who starred in the family hit The Game Plan and is also set to appear in the upcoming family film, Race to Witch Mountain. It seems Johnson is finding an interesting niche in the family film business. It’s especially interesting considering his beginnings in the world of wrestling.
Tomorrowland is, of course, a section of the Magic Kingdom – a futuristic area that includes such attractions as Space Mountain. Disney has confirmed there is an original script being written but denies it is entitled Tomorrowland.

This seems really weird to me. Can a section of Disneyland really inspire an entire film? It feels like grasping at straws.
Isn't tomorrowland already home to a number of rides with complimenting movies? Buzzlight Year Astro Blasters, Star Tours, Autopia, and the new Finding Nemo Subarine Voyage? A ride maybe able to pull it off, but this seems a little much.
As long as he brings that eyebrow of his.. lol
I'm sure they'll pull something together, but I'd guess it will be more 'Haunted House' than Pirates of the Caribbean.
