Fans of One Tree Hill were left last season with a looming question that would force us to wait an entire summer to find out the answer.
Who the heck did Lucas Scott call, and if it wasn’t Peyton Sawyer, when would this sick game of keeping those two apart ever end?
Peyton is my favorite character on the show. She’s cute, funny, geeky, into music and I’ve always rooted for her and Lucas to end up together. It was obvious from the very first episodes of the series that their destinies were intertwined.
We got our answer on Monday night, and I’m happy to say that Lucas called Peyton on the phone and they rushed off to Las Vegas to get married. No Lindsey, no Brook. Just the love of his life.

So with that out of the way, my care for the rest of the subplots was minimal. Especially when it was revealed that the person who hit Dan Scott with the car in the season finale, was none other than Pscyho Nanny who tried to kidnap little James Lucas Scott.
Ugh. I really didn’t want that storyline to return, and now it seems she’s holding Dan prisoner ala Kathy Bates in Misery, and will once again be after that little boy. No thanks.
In other stories, Brook’s evil mom returned, said she could take the company if she wanted since she’s a 50% owner, and it appears as though she hired some people to break the crap out of Brook later in the episode.
At least, that’s my take on it.
Nathan Scott’s back is hurting him, so his journey back to the NBC appears to be teetering on the edge of a cliff. Skills is still hooking up with Nathan’s mom, and Mouth left town for Omaha along with Millicent.
Lucas and Peyton ended up not getting married in Vegas, a development you saw coming from a mile away, and thus we’ll either get a giant wedding later this year, or Lindsey will of course show up to complicate matters.

Now that I read your recap, I realized the only storyline I care about is the Peyton/Lucas one. Ugh… not a great way to start the season. Hopefully, things will move forward better. Right now, it seems like they aren't sure what else to do with these characters.
I enjoyed the episode. It still has that slow pace to it like last season. I absolutely don't care for Dan and haven't since season 4. His character is a waste. I really thought the Nanny story was over but I guess not… I don't care what happens to Dan so that whole storyline pointless. But hey, props to the actress who plays her. She is one crazy bitch. The only thing I was interested in was Haley, Nathan, Payton/Lucas, and Brooke. Boy did she get messed up… I hope this season moves on from being the romantic love interest stuff to more about the characters, the brothers etc. But so far, it's been okay.
Lucas and Peyton suck, more than a half of the world think like that, they maybe tried to make them look like and epic story, but the two actors have no chemistry, they can't convince. And to warp the mess up, their “love history” is covered with lies and cheating. Sorry, but i don't buy them as a couple. It's BrookE. And Brooke and lucas make the best couple, she is beautiful, smart, selfless, joyful and too funny. Chad and Sophia have great chemistry, and their characters are never boring together. Also, Brooke is a great friend, not a backstabbing and terrible one like Peyton, who is a whiny boring person. Brooke and Lucas FTW, i believe she is the love of his life, because he spent from season 2 to half season 4 trying to get her back, and they clearly have feelings for each other, but he thinks she's over him, which is clearly a lie! BL FTW!
i think that payton and lucas look realy bad together i think brook and lucas get together as they have more chemastry… i hate payton on this as i cannot figive her for seriese 1 you wouldn’t do that to your best freind as freinds are more important than guys……. so i think you should get brook and lucas together as payton is a little slag in this and licas and payton do nat make a good couple …… anyways i love how hayley and hayley and nathan get together but i dont like how they get in that massive argument Chad and brook have great chemistry, and their characters are never boring together……… make sure you keep nathan and hayley as they are lush together and you can feel the chemastry when they are together i also thought jake and payton should have got together in series 1 as they made a great couple for eachother and she would be a great mother for jakes baby girl you should also make nathan and hayley have a baby as the last one i seen on telly is when you find out that hayley is pregnant i think you should make that happen and also is there any chance for you to meet the one tree hill cast as i would love to meet chad micheal murry as i is so fit ! same as nathan…….. how many sesons of one tree hill is there …………. oh yeah and you should soooooo make lucases mam and lucases uncle get to gether as they make a perfect couple for eachother make sure if there is any way of meeting him write to me on!!
