Okay, so sarcasm aside, the second official trailer for the upcoming Star Trek film from J.J. Abrams is now available on Apple.com in beautiful high-def.

I wont hold back telling you that this trailer is frakking awseome. I love the look of it, the high-action feel, the characters and the special effects. Star Trek has always been one of my major addictions, but has lost my interest after the lack of good films and even lazier attempts and reviving it on television.
But this one looks like it has promise. And while a lot of people hate “going back” to see stories that re-tell an origin, I for one am stoked for seeing this new vision for James T. Kirk and Spock.
I did a screen-grab of my favorite shot from the HD trailer and posted it below. I’ve always been one that wondered how the Enterprise was first constructed and this idea of it being done right there on the surface of the planet is perfect.

I had my doubts about it, even though I could not think of a better team behind the wheel (Lost, for crying out loud!!). I realized I was becoming one of those people who get uptight about change. I wanted something post-Nemesis with the same characters. But now after seeing this… I’m more excited about this movie than I ever was for an older Star Trek movie.
I totally agree! I really wanted something great to happen after Nemesis, and even though they will re-tell Kirk’s era, and not Next Generation, I am still very excited. The trailer is fantastic and JJ Abrams has yet to disappoint me.
I was never a huge Star Trek fan. Watched the original occasionally as a kid. But this trailer made me want to watch the new Star Trek.
Of course, I’m a huge lost fan, so J.J. Abrams is an amazing story writer in my opinion.
