Over the last week I have been logging onto Hulu and watching one, two, and sometimes even three episodes each night of a old-school TV series called Charles in Charge. I actually like it and will continue watching until I’m through with every season.
I remember coming home after school while growing up and sitting in front of the TV to watch this show every evening before starting my homework. The show was a pick me up from a long day. Having a teenage, college kid to help with a family of four was great back then.
As we look back to our past and think about some of the shows that we used to watch we may think, “God I miss that show.” I often hear from others, “I use to watch that show when I was a kid or a teen.” Charles in Charge is one of those shows you may have watched as a little kid or even a teen and haven’t thought of in nearly 15 years.
It is the little shows that outshine even some of the best sitcoms today, and we don’t even think about it. You can find most of the Charles in Charge seasons on DVD now. If you don’t have the money, log onto Hulu and look under family shows for it. There are a lot of older TV shows that have been off the air for over 10 years that we may have forgotten about. These shows may bring back memories of when we use to come home from school and sit down to eat a snack in front of the TV and watch them.
To me this is really what TV is all about. A lot of shows today don’t even come close to the older family shows. I’m not admitting I’m old, but the younger generation would not even know what the old-school TV shows are really about and most likely wouldn’t consider sitting down for about 22 minutes to watch a decent show like Charles in Charge. Before you dismiss a classic like this, take some time to watch it. You may never know what you’ve missed.
Well, I see what you’ve been doing lately instead of hanging out. Charles in Charge was definitely before my time.
Justin, Shannon’s on a ledge man, you need to talk him down! Millions of lives were ruined in the 80’s by this show! I think there’s an 800 number you can call.
Foreman if you can pass that 800 number onto me then I will be glad to call and check it out.Heck maybe I can even write a review on my opinion on the 800 number.I’m very old fashion and shows that I watched growing up on Nick at Night, NBC,ABC,and even what use to be WGN from Chicago and I’m not sure if that station name still exist but I think it was bought out by the WB but still not sure.I grew up in the 80’s and my life was never ruined until 1994-1995 when 750 players and 28 owners resulted in lost money for the owners of Major League Baseball went on strike.But I lived through it and have let it go.Show me where Charles in Charge ruined lives in the 80’s.The only other time that my life was ruined was when Paul Bear Bryant retired in 1982.Simply the best college football coach to ever walk a sideline.

I think my next review will be on Alabama football but Justin wouldn’t want me too cause he is an Auburn fan and a graduate of Auburn (cow pasture) University. so maybe I should do it on Paul Bear Bryant.
Shannon, how old are you son? You don’t look to be 25-30? Bear Bryant retired in 1982 then died in 1983. If that’s the case you shouldn’t have been more than 4 or 5 years old at the given time. The only thing that should have ruined your life at that age would be pooping your pants in pre-school.
