“Up in the Air” tells the story of a middle-aged single man (George Clooney) that is in love with his job. While getting a high to be hired by large corporations to do massive lay-offs, he spends the majority of his time traveling and fondling with random women to pass the time.
Since his traveling requires so much time he meets people in airports, hotels, and restaurants; however, he clearly has no close friends until he meets a wonderful woman (Vera Farmiga) who brings light into his abandoned life.
Now, with a close friend who becomes a confidant, and a drastic change in his current job he begins wondering what he is lacking in his life. Soon he learns that he could possibly be in need of friendship and family; nonetheless, we do not always get what we want.
I enjoyed the fact that it was unpredictable and dictated the idea of how shallow life can sometimes be. The ending was subtle and brilliant; which made the movie climb to my list of top ten.
SOUNDS COOL
One of the best movies in the 2009. Clooney is great!
