Triumph the Insult Comic Dog insults people at Comic-Con

Triumph the Insult Comic Dog insults people at Comic-Con

By Mike on August 7, 2008

It’s not like I’m a big fan of Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog, but he did make a trip all the way to San Diego a week and a half ago for Comic-Con and the resulting video was pretty friggin’ hilarious.

He basically trashes everyone and everything there and it couldn’t be funnier.

Fringe will have viral clues in-between scenes

Fringe will have viral clues in-between scenes

By Mike on August 4, 2008

I realized last night that I didn’t write much about Fringe from Comic-Con. I did sit in on the panel, but never felt like anything interesting was said that needed to be written about. Well, now you are going to get a few of my thoughts.

Comic-Con: The Wrap Up

Comic-Con: The Wrap Up

By Mike on July 29, 2008

There was one thing I learned from my two-day trip to San Diego’s 2008 Comic-Con.

Four days would have been better.

And also possibly one more person joining me to help cover the event. The vastness of Comic-Con is staggering. I know that I didn’t get to spend enough time on the exhibit floor, but even the 3-4 hours I put in allowed me to only explore maybe a quarter of the booths and displays.

Comic-Con: Battlestar Galactica panel video is up

Comic-Con: Battlestar Galactica panel video is up

By Mike on July 28, 2008

SciFi.com has posted the video for the entire Battlestar Galactica panel from Saturday.

A heads up though: Kevin Smith moderated, and thus it’s really not safe for work. Or kids.

I missed the first 25 minutes due to my insane plan to live blog the Lost panel and run to BSG an hour and fifteen minutes before it started.

Comic-Con: Videos of the panels for Chuck, The Office and Heroes

Comic-Con: Videos of the panels for Chuck, The Office and Heroes

By Mike on July 28, 2008

NBC is rocking and has posted a lot of video from Comic-Con, including three of their most popular panels: The Office, Chuck and Heroes.

Out of the three, I only missed The Office panel, so I’ll be watching it along with you all. Rainn Wilson hosted it and from the bits I’ve seen so far, it looked pretty hilarious.

Comic-Con: Tony Almeida is back from the dead on 24

Comic-Con: Tony Almeida is back from the dead on 24

By Mike on July 28, 2008

If you haven’t heard that Carlos Bernard is back once again to play Tony Almeida on 24 this coming season, then you haven’t been reading our site enough and it’s time to change that fact.

But before we ever get to Tony returning, the 24 movie will take place this fall and from the scene we all were treated with, this looks like a humdinger of an entry.

Comic-Con: Michael Scofield out for revenge on Prison Break

Comic-Con: Michael Scofield out for revenge on Prison Break

By Mike on July 27, 2008

When you attend multiple panels at San Diego’s Comic-Con, you start to rate them based on entertainment value. How excited the cast is to be there, how thrilled the fans are to see the cast, writers and producers, and how much buzz is created during and after the discussion.

On a scale of 1-10, the Prison Break panel was down near Snooze-Fest.

Comic-Con: The Dharma video from the Lost panel

Comic-Con: The Dharma video from the Lost panel

By Mike on July 27, 2008

Nope, I didn’t record this video but as long as it’s up and available online, I’m going to pass it on to you guys.

During the Lost live blog we did here at Pop Critics on Saturday, I told you all about a special Dharma video that we were treated to that featured Dr. Marvin Candle, now known as Pierre Chang.

Comic-Con: The creators of Lost, Chuck, Gossip Girl, Sarah Connor and Pushing Daisies talk genre TV

Comic-Con: The creators of Lost, Chuck, Gossip Girl, Sarah Connor and Pushing Daisies talk genre TV

By Mike on July 27, 2008

One of the main panels I wanted to attend at Comic-Con was Entertainment Weekly’s Visionaries group which featured the brilliant minds behind Lost, Chuck/Gossip Girl, Pushing Daisies and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

The topic of discussion was genre television and how these guys are at the forefront of change in storytelling on the small screen and what is happening with their individual series.

Dexter season three preview!

Dexter season three preview!

By Mike on July 27, 2008

For all you fans of Dexter out there, including me, here is a long-awaited preview for the upcoming third season on Showtime.

I’m dying right now because I still haven’t started watching the second season yet and am so far behind. I absolutely loved season one, I’m now a huge convert to the awesome that is Dexter and I cannot wait to see what happens next.
