In what is being considered a fairly surprising move, Fox has opted not to bring back the freshman comedy sitcom Back To You for a second season. The TV newsroom set show features veteran television stars Kelsey Grammer and Patricia Heaton as well as Fred Willard and other up and coming actors.

No specific reason was given for the cancellation. However, Fox actually renewed the Brad Garrett and Joely Fisher led Til Death which will return for a third season. The two shows have been running in a block on Fox to decent but not spectacular ratings.

It is assumed that the marquee talent both in front of and behind the camera of Back To You caused the show to be far more expensive than Til Death which is the reason Fox has decided to not bring it back.

I know a few of you out there are psycho fanatics about Anchorman and even consider it your favorite movie of all-time. Some of us just think it was friggin’ hilarious. Others didn’t like it or get it, much like my feelings on The 40-Year Old Virgin.

Who cares about all that. We’re getting a sequel. To Anchorman.

According to The Movie Blog, via Moviehole (who’s site is totally down as of this writing thanks to not paying your bills I guess), Anchorman director/writer Adam McKay and Will Farrell are all excited about filming a sequel to the hit original.

McKay tells Collider that Will Ferrell will be putting on the 70s duds again sometime in the next couple of years. “I’m looking to do another movie, I might do this other movie called Channel 3 Billion which is kind of this science fiction/Brazil type comedy. Then after that, Will and I are like let’s do Anchorman 2…so you’re talking like 2 years maybe we’ll do it. But we’re going to do it, for sure.

McKays it’s a sure-thing, unless of course Paul Rudd and Fred Willard balk at the idea. “We’re dying to do it. Unless we can’t get the cast together, which is always kind of a tricky thing. But, I think, with that cast we’re all friends, so yeah, we want to do it.

Of course, you need Steve Carell as well I would think. But regardless, what do you think of the idea of a sequel for this movie?

I really hate it when good movies end up with horrible “Part 2′s.” A Whole Nine Yards comes to mind. I don’t even acknowledge a sequel exists. In fact, I’m not sure why I’m even writing about that, there WAS no A Whole Ten Yards.

But these kinds of classic comedies…I just can’t see a sequel doing the original justice.

What about you guys?
