Friday Night Lights
TV Talk: Tuesday and Wednesday Nights
Missed posting Tuesdays’ TV Talk due to a busy last few days, but here it is along with Wednesday. A lot of good TV going on, especially in the realm of Fringe and Friday Night Lights for me personally.
I actually didn’t watch much else, but that’s okay. Friday Night Lights was so damn good, there [...]
TV Talk: Wednesday Night
All kinds of stuff on Wednesday nights, and while I didn’t get to Gary Unmarried yet, I did watch Friday Night Lights and Pushing Daisies, which gave us two excellent installments.
Why do I watch Gary Unmarried in the first place? I dunno, but I laugh at it. I think it’s just Jay Mohr that I [...]
TV Talk: Wednesday Night
The big premieres of Friday Night Lights, Dirty Sexy Money and Pushing Daisies happened on Wednesday night and it was so awesome to have them back. At least, FNL and Daisies, because I’ve only seen one episode of Money.
Lots of other stuff on as well, including Gary Unmarried, a show I found myself laughing at [...]
Sweet Preview for Friday Night Lights
I’ve been looking for this online ever since I saw it last week on TV and finally someone with more techno-abilities than myself has captured and uploaded it for us fans. Hat tip to FanGrrl!
It’s a short little preview for the upcoming third season of Friday Night Lights on DirecTV’s The 101 premiering October 1st.
I’m [...]
Rumor Mill: Will Smith as Captain America?
Okay, so a couple of weeks ago we had a totally bogus rumor about Cher playing Catwoman in the next Batman movie. It ended up being absolutely false and without any merit whatsoever.
Now we have another one that isn’t as crazy, but it’s still puzzling.
According to MTV.com and actor Derek Luke, Will Smith may have been offered the role of Captain America.
Mike’s Fall TV Preview – Wednesdays
Welcome to the Wednesday edition of my week-long Fall TV Preview. Thus far most of the feedback I’ve gotten on some of my choices for Season Passes has been mixed. The demographic here at Pop Critics obviously leans more towards the male persuasion and thus shows like Gossip Girl or One Tree Hill raise their ire.
What can I say? I’m a man with a wide variety of tastes (I hear those snickers at the “man” comment). I like sports, Lost, science fiction, Swingers, computers, high definition, happy endings, Dirty Dancing and The O.C.
I yam what I yam.
Less Street and Smash this fall on “Friday Night Lights”
Two of the main characters in the first two seasons of Friday Night Lights was Jason Street and “Smash.” Street suffered a paralyzing injury early in the first season, while Smash was a star running back for the Dillon Panthers and graduated at the end of last year.
Their situations seem to pose a problem for the writers because both of them are out of high school now. The series is about Friday night high school football, and following these two characters elsewhere will prove to be too difficult.
“Friday Night Lights” (season 3) returns October 1st
Thanks to my yearly notification of my Sunday NFL Ticket being renewed by Direct TV, I have some pretty great news for all you Friday Night Lights fans out there.
Slipped inside the NFL Ticket envelope was a sweet little advertisement for the NBC high school football series and its premiere date of October 1st.
The Top 10 semifinalists for Emmys in Comedy and Drama
In case you guys are interested, here are the 20 semifinalists in the Emmy categories for Best Comedy and Best Drama series.
Most notably and highly frakking sad in my opinion, is the continued disregard for Battlestar Galactica. I guess not enough people watch the show. I can only assume if it was on FOX, enough people would have seen it and voted it into this group.
Mike’s Top 10 TV shows from the 2007-2008 season
Back in December I gave you a Top 10 list of my Favorite Fall Shows up to the writer’s strike that shut everything down. It also delayed other series that were supposed to show up in January or February, like 24 and Lost, one of which never even aired.
With the entire 2007-2008 season now under our belts, it’s time to look back and rank my favorite shows because I’m absolutely in love with ranking stuff.
