Announcing Pop Critics!

It was announced today that Jason A Clark (right in photo), author of the entertainment blog, Inner88, and Mike Olbinski (left in photo), author of the entertainment blog, A Mike Life, have joined forces to form Pop Critics (http://www.PopCritics.com).

Pop Critics was founded by the two aspiring writers after a chance online meeting grew into a friendship forged by friendly competition on the website BloggingZoom.com, a Digg like site designed to help bloggers promote their material.

What Is Pop Critics?

Pop Critics will be an entertainment hub, a central location, where readers can go for the latest in pop culture and entertainment news and notes. Capitalizing on the popular features of each of their individual sites, Mike and Jason will offer their opinions, musings, and general feelings on news in the world of television, movies, books, music, and whatever else in the world of pop culture that tickles their fancies.

“For a while we were actually competing with one another, trying to beat each other to the biggest breaking stories or the hottest movie trailers. But at some point we realized that we kept writing the same stuff – from almost the same perspective, said Mike Olbinski of A Mike Life. “It just dawned on us at some point that it made a lot more sense to team up and offer our readers twice as much quality and twice as much content with half as much work for us.

Jason A Clark of Inner88 adds that “our blogs were just so close in nature, so parallel in subject matter, so cosmically aligned to the same topics and opinions, that one day we just felt like things would be a heck of a lot easier if we teamed up…you know, like Batman and Robin, or Laverne and Shirley.

The two aspiring internet entrepreneurs have big plans for the future of Pop Critics. Although the immediate future will be filled with merging content from their individual sites into the new site and creating new content, the dynamic duo eventually hope to bring in guest bloggers and possibly expand into other subjects.

“I don’t think you’ll ever see Pop Critics doing recaps for Rock Of Love or a movie review for The Hottie or the Nottie unless we’re making fun of it, says Mike. Jason interrupts to add, “What we do want is to bring our readers quality reporting on things they SHOULD be paying attention to today because they are the things the world will be paying attention to tomorrow.

What About Inner88 and A Mike Life?

In the meantime, Inner88 and A Mike Life will stay active although most of the content relating to Pop Culture will now be posted on Pop Critics. Most of the older relevant content on both sites will be redirected to Pop Critics.
