Part One of the Season Four Finale was tonight. We are now down to the Final Four; Courtney, Katee, Twitch and Joshua. Each dancer had to dance with the other three dancers, do a solo, then close the show with a routine involving all four of them. The show begins with a performance by the top six contestants to Bette Midler’s The Rose. It was a beautiful dance choreographed by Mandy Moore (the dancer, not the singer/actress). The judges are reintroduced, Adam Shankman, Mary Murphy, and Nigel Lythgoe. Shankman also has great news. He has added to the $250,000 winner’s purse a featured role in a new movie he is producing. From here on out the contest is going to be a tad different. Each contestant will have two choreographed dances with a partner along with a solo. At the end of the show, the television audience votes and the guy and girl with the lowest numbers gets the boot. The judges no longer have a say as to who is America’s Favorite Dancer. Week 3 of the competition and I already have my favorite couples picked, do you? Although as a bedazzled- glamour-shots Mary Murphy commented, this season does seem a bit more equal on the playing field than last season.
