Lindsay Lohan pulls a Britney: Guest starring on "Ugly Betty"

For awhile it seemed whatever Britney Spears did to get in trouble, Lindsay Lohan was sure to follow. The Soup and Joel McHale had field days every week with those two. So much so, it’s hard to figure what material that show has left to poke fun at now that they’ve calmed down somewhat.

Lindsay is now following Britney again, but this time it’s not so bad. At least, not compared to what shenanigans they used to get into (Thanks Juno for that word).

After Britney’s successful guest appearance on How I met Your Mother, Lohan will be seen in the season finale of Ugly Betty.

She was so excited to shoot, a source tells Us, “Lindsay arrived on set 45 minutes early.”

Adds the source, “Lindsay and America [Ferrera] really hit it off!”

Variety reports she’ll play a down-on-her-luck old high school pal of Betty.

Lohan’s first episode airs on the May 22 season finale.

Her rep tells Us the actress will also appear in multiple episodes of the ABC hit.

I guess that means she’ll be back next season.

Some of you out there are fans of this show, so I wanted to pass it on, even if I don’t really get into it. I know there is a huge following though, it’s just not my cup of tea.

Jared Leto gained 60 pounds to play Mark David Chapman, a mentally unstable 25-year old Beatles fan who obsessed over J.D. Salinger’s “The Catcher in the Rye,” and who shocked the world on December 8, 1980 when he gunned down 40-year old musician and activist, John Lennon, outside his New York apartment building in the film Chapter 27.

The movie takes place in the three days leading up to Lennon’s assassination and is intended to be a deep exploration of Chapman’s psyche, without putting substantial emphasis on the murder. The title, Chapter 27, suggests a continuation of Salinger’s novel “The Catcher in the Rye,” which ends on chapter 26. Chapman attempted to model his life after Holden Caulfield, the main character of the book and was carrying a copy when he shot Lennon.

This film has drawn a lot of criticism from Lennon fans who say it glamorizes the life of Lennon’s murderer (see Boycott Chapter 27). It had a difficult time picking up a distributor but is now scheduled for limited release in the US on March 28, 2008.

I think Jared Leto actually looks pretty creepy as Chapman. He hasn’t had a strong role in a long time so it might be interesting to see him tackle this one. I’m not crazy about Lindsay Lohan’s involvement in the film, though. Lohan being in a picture usually sends up red flags for me.

“Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay” Posters and R-Rated Trailer

The first Harold and Kumar film was a bit of an underground hit (like any good pot smoking film is). I guess it was inevitable that they would make a sequel considering making these films cost less to make than putting Lindsay Lohan in rehab for a week.

The preview for “Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay” (official site) actually looks pretty funny. I have to admit, though, that I’m mostly excited that Neil Patrick Harris is returning as…well, Neil Patrick Harris (or some version of himself anyway). And I think the teaser poster (which I just have to include here) is actually much funnier than the actual poster. I mean, Neil Patrick Harris on a unicorn… What’s not to love?

Official Plot Synopsis: “Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay” marks the triumphant return of these two hilarious, slacker anti-heroes. The movie stars John Cho (American Pie, American Dreamz) as Harold and Kal Penn (Van Wilder 2: The Rise of Taj, Epic Movie) as Kumar, two stoners who canÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t seem to get a break. Their last adventure found them traveling across country to find a White Castle hamburger in order to satisfy a weed-induced case of Ã¢â‚¬Å“the munchies.Ã¢â‚¬Â?

This time, the boys get themselves in trouble trying to sneak a bong on board a flight to Amsterdam. Now, being suspected of terrorism, they are forced to run from the law and try to find a way to prove their innocence. What follows is an irreverent and epic journey of deep thoughts, deeper inhaling and a wild trip around the world that is as Ã¢â‚¬Å“un-PCÃ¢â‚¬Â? as it gets.
