There is a new series of NBA commercials out promoting the NBA Playoffs which start this coming weekend. They continue to play on the NBA’s theme for the 2007-08 season: Where Amazing Happens.

I think the commercials are pretty unique, hence the reason I’m posting it here. They consist of a split screen with two different athletes saying the same phrase. The kicker is, from what Kobe Bryant said on Monday, is that they didn’t tell the players who they’d be paired up with.

Kobe’s partner? Shaquille O’Neal. That’s great stuff.

The one I’m posting below has Steve Nash with Jason Kidd, and the final line is ironic. Two people are saying the same words, but there can be only one.

These probably were a bit complicated to get right, because the players had to say the words at the exact same pace as the other guy, but filmed entirely separate.

If you read a blog of mine, you know I’m a Phoenix Suns fan and therefore you are going to occasionally get something entertainment related to them if the opportunity arises.

Well, I was told of this great commercial with Steve Nash, using the NBA’s theme for this year: “Where Amazing Happen.”

If you know anything about Nash, he is a phenomenal athlete, but it took him awhile to get any attention from the NBA because of his origins in Canada. He was taken with the 15th overall pick by the Phoenix Suns in 1995, left them and finally returned a few years ago where he’s now won two MVP awards and is considered among the best point guards of all-time.

It’s a nice little commercial the NBA marketing team did with him and I thought it was worth passing on.

If you want another little Suns video, the below one with Nash and Amare Stoudemire is kind of funny.

I write this blog mainly for family and friends, although I hope others read it with interest in whatever I find amusing that day. It would be great to write for a wider audience.

But there are those who read it who also run their own blogs and I thought I’d highlight them and help promote their blogs a bit. After all, if it wasn’t for fellow bloggers, most sites would never get off the ground.

First off is my friend Scott, who just started a blog all about career advice and how to “Make your Mark.” His site is called Career Waymark and you should check it out. He’s only been up a week and is already drawing about the same subscription number as I am.

Two others who read are my friends Shawn and Davina White. Davina’s blog is updated continuously on stuff happening in her life, while Shawn’s is more about his schooling and theology thoughts. I wish he’d write a bit more!

There is also Nicky who runs Swish Style, a friend of mine from church, Ryan who has Cafe Frenzy, my buddy from Israel who publishes Lovest Well and finally Melissa Jill Photography who did our anniversary photos.

I just want to thank all of them for visiting this site, giving me great ideas like the 101 in 1001 (thanks again Melissa, it’s been fun) and just generally supporting me, despite my rabid love to push TV shows down your throat.

Okay, so by now you are wondering why the “celebrity” in this blog title. Well, I came across a list of a TON of celebrities who blog about their lives and careers. My favorites are Zach Braff, Kevin Smith and Mark Cuban.

But there are 63 others you might like to check out and find some that you like (Alyssa Milano has two!).

I just found out John Cusak has one, and I can’t believe I’m not subscribed yet

The rest are after the read more link.
