Here we go. It’s time to get this Ultimate Bad Guy competition started. We’ve had a few weeks now of nominations and narrowing down contestants to a final, select group of 32 of the most ruthless, evil guys out there.

Each of the first four days this week will feature the opening games for each of our brackets. You can view the entire tournament layout right here. We also have a central page for this contest, so you can quickly find links to our voting posts.

Without further blabbing, let’s get to today’s battles.

#1 Darth Vader versus #8 John Doe

One of the most evil villains of all time in Darth Vader squares off in an interesting match up with the serial killer from the movie Se7en. The matchup seems almost unfair, but the cunning of a maticulous murderer can never be counted out.

[poll id="36"]

#3 Q versus #6 HAL 9000

An even more peculiar matchup. Q from the Continuum in Star Trek: The Next Generation versus the computer core from the spaceship in 2001: A Space Odyssey. I’m not sure how Q can lose this fight, but perhaps HAL’s calming, evil voice could persuade Q into doing something stupid?

[poll id="37"]

#2 The Alien versus #7 Sylar

The Alien from the movie of the same name, against the evil superhero from the TV series Heroes. On first glance, the seedings of these two may look wrong, but no one was about to disrespect The Alien and put him any lower than #2. Sylar is full of evil powers, but The Alien has proved himself to be a cunning warrior.

[poll id="38"]

#4 Predator versus #5 Khan

We’ve got a fourth wacky matchup to get this thing started. The Predator versus Khan from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. While a great bad guy in one of the best Trek movies ever was strong and intelligent, his opponent, The Predator, is equally as fierce.

[poll id="39"]

Good luck combatants! May the worst man (creature) win!

The Ultimate Bad Ass competition continues today, this time with the Chuck Norris Bracket. It’s actually a pretty spectacular and powerful grouping and the one who ends up making to the final four will have had to kick some major butt.

But before you go on, make sure you’ve voted in the Jack Bauer Bracket. Once you’ve done that, come back here and vote below.

For more information and where to view the bracket, visit our Ultimate Bad Ass main page.

And now, here are the games for the Chuck Norris Bracket. Voting ends on April 20th.

#1 Chuck Norris vs #8 Ethan Hunt

Chuck Norris helped start this whole thing, along with Jack Bauer, and now he squares off against Ethan Hunt from Mission Impossible. I have a feeling for Hunt, that this mission to beat Norris may actually BE impossible.

[poll id="8"]

#3 Han Solo vs #6 Mad Max

Whew, another solid matchup. Older characters that could still beat the snot out of you in their old age I’d reckon (yes, I said reckon again).

[poll id="9"]

#2 Jason Bourne vs #7 Maximus

A curious matchup between the most deadly spy in the history of film against a guy who really can only fight in an arena.

[poll id="10"]

#4 John Rambo vs #5 Tony Soprano

Another solid 4 vs 5 matchup as either of these guys could win.

[poll id="11"]
