Eureka Returns Tonight For Season 3 On Sci Fi
I’m a big fan of Eureka on the Sci Fi channel. It’s one of the few remaining shows they air that I make sure to watch every week. The cast is quirky and fun but full of talent. The episodes tend to follow smaller story arches so its not too hard to keep up with even though there’s tons of backstory if you’re in to that sort of thing. Mostly I just enjoy the inventions the scientists in the town create that inevitably lead to some sort of catastrophe.
Darren Aronofsky Confirmed As RoboCop Director
Every once in a while something we talk about as being a rumor that just seems too good to be true actually does come true. This blue moon the rumor that came true is the one that said that Darren Aronofsky (Pi, Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain) would be the director of the RoboCop reboot. We just knew it had to be too good to be true. We were wrong. Aronofsky is officially in as director.
First Trailer For Sci-Fi Viking vs. Aliens Film “Outlander” Starring James Caviezel and Ron Perlman
Okay, it doesn’t get much crazier than Outlander when you’re trying to describe a movie. I can give you the official synopsis of course, and I will, but suffice it to say that this is probably the first sci-fi film this year that will feature vikings doing battle with an alien creature that resembles a dragon.
“The Mutant Chronicles” Has Terrible Title But Cool Poster and Action Packed Trailer
We stay pretty informed about upcoming movies around here since we’re usually writing about them from even the earliest stages of development. I have to admit, though, that I was caught kind of off guard with The Mutant Chronicles. The truth is I hadn’t heard much about it and hadn’t really bothered to look in to it at all. I think the title kind of threw me off.
Book Review: “Building Harlequin’s Moon” by Larry Niven and Brenda Cooper (2005)
Larry Niven is one of my favorite sci-fi authors and has been ever since I read the wonderful “Ringworld” as a child. “Building Harlequin’s Moon” is a collaboration between Niven and Brenda Cooper that tells the story of what it means to be human when you’re creating a world from scratch.
Warriors From Different Eras Will Battle In “Arena”
Summit Entertainment has snapped up the rights to a sci-fi action thriller called Arena which was written by Toby Wagstaff and Darren Howell.
Wolfgang Peterson Off “Ender’s Game” Adaptation
Anyone who’s delved much at all into science fiction books will have already heard of Orson Scott Card and his magnificent book, Ender’s Game. It was one of my early favorites. I think my sister used to read it like once a year. I never got really caught up in the sequels but that first book was everything that’s good about science fiction writing.
“The Day The Earth Stood Still” Being Mutilated For Remake
The guys over at AICN got their hands on a script for the Keanu Reeves starring remake of “The Day The Earth Stood Still” and the reviews are not good. In fact, the reviewer, Uncapie, was so upset he threw the script against the wall.
M. Night Shyamalan Preps Live Action “Avatar: The Last Airbender” As Next Project
It looks like those of us who like M. Night Shyamalan but have been hoping he would make a move away from the formulaic genre he’s been in for a while are about to get our wish. Shyamalan is currently in pre-production adapting the popular cartoon, Avatar: The Last Airbender, into an expected movie [...]
80’s miniseries “V” Could Become Movie Franchise
Now I know that some of you have to remember the 80’s sci-fi mini-series and TV show, V, because it was a huge hit when it first came out way back in 1983. I personally was a huge fan as it was pretty exciting for my 9 year old mind to contemplate the world [...]
