‘Y: The Last Man’ to be a Trilogy of Films with Big Changes
D.J. Caruso, the hopeful director for the upcoming film adaptation of the Y: The Last Man comic book series from Brian K. Vaughan, spoke to Sci Fi about the status of the script and any changes that will be forthcoming.
And some of them will no doubt annoy fans of the 10-volume graphic novel masterpiece. But [...]
Mike’s Pull List for Week Of September 10th
It’s been a long week so far, and one of the highlights was getting to visit Atomic Comics today to grab the latest stuff from my box. The two comics in there were actually ones I’m not ready to read yet, but I did find two others that I was looking forward to.
Since last week though, I’ve really had a blast with Kick-Ass and Y: The Last Man, Volume 10 (my review is over here). The Mark Millar bloodfest that is Kick-Ass was one of those comics that I just couldn’t put down once it got going. I had been waiting to read issues #3 and #4 because I couldnt’ find #2, but when I finally got it and began to read, I’d finished all three before I knew what happened.
Graphic Novel Review: Y: The Last Man, Volume 10
My journey in reading Y: The Last Man has been a long one. 33 years if you care to look at it that way. The first volume of the series was also the first graphic novel I’d ever read. Thank you to my beautiful wife for giving it to me as a gift, along with The Dark Knight Returns, earlier this year for my birthday.
I had no idea how great of a gift it was going to be. And I’m not just talking about the fact that it sucked me into the world of comics which I’ve enjoyed beyond belief.
Mike’s Pull List for the Week of September 3rd
Uncontrollable forces kept me away from Atomic Comics this past Wednesday, so you’re getting my unbelievably awesome pull list a day late. I know that some of you out there haven’t been able to focus on anything else because of the delay, so I apologize.
It wont happen again. Or it will, who knows.
I read everything I picked up last week and really enjoyed the Spider-man: Secret Invasion issue, as well as Necronomicon. Superman was interesting, although the final page with the Dog was a bit funny to me.
Mike’s Pull List for the Week of August 20th
I forgot to grab my War Heroes copy this morning on my way out, so when I visited Atomic Comics this afternoon, I didn’t have the “ticket” needed to hop in the Mark Millar autograph line. Aaron, the comic book aficionado down there, tried to sell me a 2nd printing, variant version, but it just wasn’t worth it.
Charlie Jade Recap: “And Not a Drop to Drink”
That wasn’t a slow one at all, was it?
This is usually the point where those of us who are fans of this fantastic show can stop promising it’ll all be worth it if you just hang on a little longer. This is the point where the newbies become converts and start proselytizing right alongside us. This is also where we see the real crime of SciFi’s quick hook.
Graphic novel review: “Y: The Last Man” (Vol. 1-5)
Back in February my journey wtih graphic novels took off with Y: The Last Man, and you can read the review I wrote for the first volume in the 10-part series.
I’ve read a bunch of others in the meantime, but just recently I got back into this story of Yorick Brown and the fact that he’s the last man on Earth. I’m finally finished with Book 5, which is the halfway point in the series, and felt I should write a review at this juncture.
