Voiceover Legend Don LaFontaine Dies at Age 68
Don LaFontaine is a name that will likely come as a strange one to the average person. If you can identify who he is and what he’s famous for, you are probably in the minority.
But if you could hear him speak one sentence, you’d recognize him instantly.
I’m embarassed to say that I knew the name vaguely when I heard it today, but couldn’t place it. But once I read he was the King of Voiceovers, I remembered who he was and was suddenly bummed out by the news that he passed away on Monday.
Welcome to Slapface, a new Office Olympic game
As I write this short little article on Sunday night, I’m just hoping that the copyright police don’t get to YouTube’s powers-that-be and take it down before you guys have a chance to see it.
After we got The Office Olympics and Flonkerton, now comes Slapface, directly from the genius mind of Jim Halpert.
Christian the Lion – He’ll make you cry
This site is devoted to pop culture/entertainment, and while we tend to focus on movies, comics and television more than anything else, we still like to bring you other things that are hot out there, especially viral videos that are making big splashes on YouTube.
I saw this video on The Today Show this morning, and found out that it’s blazing across the web and making the entire world smile.
“The Middleman” premieres tonight on ABC Family
A brief post here to tell you guys about this new superhero show debuting tonight on ABF Family called The Middleman.
It’s been getting some good reviews, and IO9 calls it the most anticipated superhero show since Heroes. Of course, I’m not sure much else in the same genre has come out since then, but still.
“Flight of the Conchords” – Sello Tape
I’ll never stop pimping Flight of the Conchords, be it the TV show or just their music in general, so I had to pass on this little video from some college guys.
On their graduation night, The Carleton Singing Knights of Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, performed their own a cappella version of the Conchords song, Sello Tape.
A couple of BSG previews for “Revelations”
The final episode of this year for Battlestar Galactica is called Revelations and it’s on this Friday. The hype surrounding it continues to grow for me, and judging from the previews I’ve seen, it has ever right to.
I’ve got two to show you, the first being the one you likely saw after the episode on Friday, the second is from the Canadian Space Network, their own version of The Sci Fi Channel.
The alternate ending to the season 2 finale of “Jericho”
Back in March when Jericho was nearing it’s end, we wrote a bit about the fact that the producers of the show filmed two different endings in case the series wasn’t canceled.
Sadly, we all got to watch the one that gave us a nice conclusion. It wasn’t something we wanted to see, but with the series likely over, they chose to go with that one.
The Bourne Waldo
Saw this a few days ago on YouTube, found it funny and of course had to pass it on.
What would happen if Jason Bourne had been played by Waldo? This humorous video clashes the Bourne Identity with Where’s Waldo.
Enjoy!
Spelling bee kid hears the word Numnah wrong
This is pretty hilarious, you might have seen it already, but if not, you should take a look.
The 2008 National Spelling Bee just took place, and the winner was the kid in the video below, Sameer Mishra. But before he got to the end, he received a word that threw him off a bit:
Numnah
Lost season finale: Kate’s phone call
Woooo, here’s another great find today after the Lost season four finale last night. It’s very spoilerish if you haven’t seen the episode, so watch it at your own risk!
