From My Childhood
Sometimes we forget the movies that we grew up on. We loss sight of the classics as we make way for the modern motion pictures; elapsing memories of the movies that we cherished as children. My favorite quote from “The Sandlot” was when Babe Ruth spoke to Benny in his dreams, “Let me tell you something kid; Everybody gets one chance to do something great. Most people never take the chance, either because they’re too scared, or they don’t recognize it when it spits on their shoes.” Although the movie was released in 1993 it still moves my heart to this very day. Another love story, “Dear John”, is sent to us by our romantic novelist Nicholas Sparks. Critics raved about the movie and how it was the best love story since the “Notebook”, but what other love stories have become motion pictures lately? I believe they may have forgotten our good friends Edward and Bella. Well, just like in the “Notebook” every love story has to come to an end, and for Hollywood that ending is one of happiness that leaves the majority of us jealous, yet hopeful for our own happy ending and “Dear John” is not different than the rest.
