Questions
The Friday Question – NFL Kickoff!
That’s right, it’s time for the National Football League to kick off the 2008 season. Yes, I know, there was a game last night, but true fans know deep down inside that SUNDAY is the real start date.
NFL Football is big in our house. We get The Ticket from DIRECTV and Sundays are dedicated to 90% football and 10% The Amazing Race/Dexter. The day begins with a big breakfast, then it’s NFL Countdown and finally The Games.
The Friday Question – Caffeinated Beverages
The last few weeks have been insanely busy for me and I found my normal six hours of sleep dwindling down to five and even four on many days.
Somehow I’m able to survive on little sleep, even though by Friday nights I’m pretty wiped. To what do I owe this mutant ability* of not requiring much pillowtime? (*fans of The Middleman will pick up on that reference)
The Friday Question – Back on the big screen
It’s such a blast being alive these days to watch these huge blockbuster films on giant movie screens. This summer I got to see The Dark Knight on an IMAX screen, and then the next day, I saw it on a smaller, normal one, that was still one of the biggest screens in the state.
For me, seeing a movie at the theater is still one of the best ways to enjoy a film. Yeah, these days it sucks at times because of the crowds of ignorant, thoughtless people out there who can ruin an entire movie for you just because they wont shut up.
The Friday Question – Music
Music is a weird thing for me. Sometimes I can’t get enough of it, and then on other occasions I don’t turn my iPod on for weeks and instead listen to the radio or something cool on XM.
Right now, I’ve become addicted to two stand-up comedy channels on XM, which completely entertain me on the daily commute.
The Friday Question – Batman’s Next Villain
With The Dark Knight breaking box office records faster than anyone can keep up and the film well on its way to being the highest grossing movie of the year (and one of the highest grossing ever), there’s little doubt that a third Batman film from Christopher Nolan and company is forthcoming.
(WILL PROBABLY CONTAIN SPOILERS OF THE DARK KNIGHT)
The Friday Question – Christian Bale
Happy Dark Knight Day everyone!
By the time you read this blog post, I’ll have already seen the latest Batman movie and likely be scrambling to get a review up for you guys, but in the meantime, I have a Friday Question for you.
Christian Bale is everywhere these days and in upcoming future days. He gets awesome roles, from Bruce Wayne to John Connor, and puts a ton of effort into pull off performances, like he did in The Machinist
The Friday Question – Random Trivia
Okay, today’s Friday Question is going to be a bit different that normal. I was bored and wanted to shake things up and get a bit more interaction from you all.
I love trivia and entertainment trivia most of all. It’s fun trying to reach back in our memories to find that long lost quote or scene from a film.
So today, I thought we’d all ask some trivia questions until we get blue in the face.
The Friday Question: Happy Fourth!
It’s the Fourth of July and I hope everyone has the day off, or at least has great plans tonight for fireworks and fun.
Since it’s a holiday, there wont me much going on here at Pop Critics today. I plan on a nice EARLY morning of golf, followed by a noon-time nap methinks.
The Friday Question – Morgan Freeman
Wanted hits theaters today, and without really having seen any reviews for it, I’m still excited about checking it out. Whether it’s actually good or not, I’m positive the action sequences will be awesome.
Whenever a movie comes out with an interesting cast, I like to pick one of the actors that has some film history [...]
The Friday Question – Top Genre Films
Well, we had an interesting debate yesterday over the AFI’s new (or old, as some might say) list of their Top 10 films in 10 classic genres.
There was a lot of groaning over the choices made by the AFI members, who seems to value the old and classic versus the new and perhaps just as good.
